Enjoying some of the wonderful Cape Town Christmas Concerts is surely one of the great ways to enjoy the spirit of Christmas.

Here I have compiled a listing of some of the finest Christmas concerts for the festive season in and around Cape Town.

Christmas Concerts in Cape Town

• Stellenbosch: Tygerberg Children’s Choir Christmas Concert at the University of Stellenbosch, Endler Hall. December 6, 2009. Booking at 021 948 4046

• Cape Town, Grand West: Christmas Wish Concert. December 11, 2009 at the Grand Arena at 19.00h. Kfm 94.5 Christmas concert with the most popular South African stars like Tickets: R30.

• Franschhoek: La Motte Classical Concert December 12, 2009. This is not a true Christmas concert, but one concert which will surely be dazzling you. The celebrated South African soprano Zanne Stapelberg and Cape Town top guitarist James Grace, may have a quite strong Spanish flair, but I have seen them last year at Christmas time and they were fabulous, a concert you really should not miss during this year’s festive season. • Cape Town, Rondebosch: Symphony Choir of Cape Town: Christmas Concert. December 13, 2009 at the Bishops Memorial Chapel. Concert with Saint Saens Christmas Oratorio, two Magnificats of Mozart and Holst’s Christmas Day. Tickets: R80/R50(Scholars).

• Cape Town, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens: Carols by Candlelight. December 17 - 20, 2009. These Cape Town Christmas concerts start at 8pm will bring traditional Christmas carols presented by the Cape Town Concert Brass Band and the Cape Town Male Voice Choir. Sponsored by Pick and Pay Stores where you also will be able to purchase the tickets in advance. Tickets: From R40

• Somerset West, Vergelegen: Carols by Candlelight. December 18, 2009. Christmas concert on the lawns of the Vergelegen Wine Estate. Bookings through Helderberg Hospice one 021 852 46 08

• Hermanus: Carols by Candlelight. December 18, 2009. Picnic and Christmas Carols at the Old Harbour at 19.30h. Donations to Hermanus Rotary Charity Fund.

• Cape Town, Constantia: Carols by Candlelight and The Christmas Rose - Puppet Show December 13 and 20 - 22, 2009 at 5pm. Bookings at the Constantia Waldorf School 021 783 20 63

• Cape Town, CBD: Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. December 24, 2009 at 17.30h in St. George's Cathedral
