• Cape Town, Somerset West: White Christmas Festival. 5 November 2016. Christmas market and concert at Mondeor Eco School. Tickets at webtickets.co.za. Children under 13: free entrance.

• Cape Town, Southern Suburbs: Groot Constantia Carols under the Stars. 7 December 2016 on the lawns of Groot Constantia. Perfect event for the whole family. No private picnics, but baskets can be ordered at Simon's. Tickets: R120. More info.

• Cape Town, Southern Suburbs: Carols by Candlelight. 15 - 18 December 2016 at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. These Cape Town Christmas concerts organised by the Rotary Club will present traditional Christmas carols in a stunning setting at the foot of Table Mountain National Park. You must purchase the tickets in advance at webtickets.co.za. Tickets: R100, concessions for children and students.

• Cape Town, Southern Suburbs: Christmas Carols with Richard Cock. 16 December 2016 at 18h00 at Bishops Diocesan College. Perfect event for the whole family. Tickets: R140. Book at Computicket.

• Cape Town, Greenpoint: Symphonic Picnic Concert. 18 December 2016 at Greenpoint Track. Not a true Christmas carols concert, but certainly a treat for the whole family. Tickets: R75 at computicket

• Cape Town, V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre: Apostle Choristers - Christmas Special. 21 December 2016. Christmas Chorals and nativity play at the amphitheatre. Enjoy this evening event in the Amphitheatre at the V&A Waterfront. Free entrance. More info.

• Cape Town, CBD: Handel's Messiah. 23 December 2016. Performed by the Symphony Choir of Cape Town. More info.

• Cape Town, CBD: Music for Advent and Christmas by Candlelight. December 2016 at St. George's Cathedral. TBC
