• Cape Town: V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre Concert and Fireworks. Start at 21.00h, End at2.00am. Free Entrance with lots of Entertainment. How about enjoying a ride into the new Year on the Wheel of Excellence at the Waterfront, what better start into 2012 could you wish for?

• Cape Town: Rock the River SA New Years Eve Party. This year's party will take place one the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch off the N7 to the North of the Mother City and is a bit further out of Cape Town (around 30mins.) but surely worth all the scenic drive. More than 100 groups are expected to perform on three days. From 12p.m. on December 31, 2010 until 1p.m. on January 2, 2011. Tickets: from R 150 for a one-day ticket. More info.

• Cape Town, Newlands: Kirstenbosch Botanic Gardens New Years Eve Concert. Open air concert with Prime Circle and Elvis Blue in the most wonderful setting. Tickets are R250 for entry and concert. More info.

• Cape Town, Artscape Opera House: The Phantom of the Opera. Enjoy one of the most popular musicals in the World and celebrate the end of the year in style. Tickets from R125. More info.

• Cape Town, Goodwood: Grand West Casino New Years Eve Party Dance the night away to great music at the Casino. With Dance Show. Tickets: R50 for the show, no cover charge for the party.

• Cape Town, Cape Quarter: New Year’s Eve Party. Have a great start to the New Year at one of the most trendy spots in the Mother City. Starting at 7pm. With great bands and delicious New Years Eve dining. Tickets from R400 depending on the restaurant. More info on prices and participating restaurants.

• Cape Town CBD, Protea Fire & Ice Hotel. Rocks The Mother City Street Party 2011. NYE Lineup: Glen Lewis (metro fm), DJ Naves (Metro FM), and DJ Sphectacula and more great DJs and the "who is who" of Cape Town's social scene. From 20.00h. Location: New Church and Victoria Street in Tamboerskloof. Tickets: From R120 for the Street Party and R300 for the VIP tickets on presale or R150/R350 at the door. VIP tickets for R1,500 for sumptuous food, champagne and access to pool deck available too.

• Cape Town, Theatre on the Bay: The Mousetrap New Year Package. Two show. One early show at 18.00h and the later one at 21.30h. Show Tickets from R125 at Computicket. More info.

Other Cape Town New Years Eve Celebrations around Cape Town

• Durbanville Wine Valley:Rezonance New Years Eve Festival. Until January 2, 2012. Three day festival with loads of different music styles and bands on two stages in beautiful surrounding of Contermanskloof, roughly 20 minutes north of Cape Town.
