Celebrate the New Year 2010 in true Cape Town style when visiting the Mother City’s Minstrel Carnival. Colors abound and cheerfulness abound when the minstrel bands march through Cape Town’s city centre.

Capetonians in beautiful colorful costumes are cheered by their many fans, locals as well as tourists who will enjoy the festivities either along Adderley Street.

There are many other great events in January you can enjoy while visiting or living in Cape Town.

The choice is overwhelming from colorful festivals to sporting events, like the Offical Unveiling of Cape Town's new attraction at the Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival to the many magical musical and dance shows, like the musical "Cats" or "Cinderella on Ice". And do not forget to visit Cape Town’s blue flag beaches.
