Have you ever been to one of the great Nederburg Concerts? The Nederburg picnic season will start soon again and you will be treated to some special events this season at the Nederburg Wine Estate in the Cape Winelands, near Paarl. The picnic season at Nederburg starts in November and you can go out there for picnics on seven days a week. Picnic baskets have to be ordered two days in advance. The season lasts until March 2012. To start off this season, enjoy a special evening with a Nederburg Concert with internationally acclaimed French pianist Maxime Zecchini who will perform works by Bartok, Brahms, Chopin, Mozart, Sancan and Saint-Saens when he appears at the Nederburg concert on October 23, 2011 at 17:00. The Parisian musician is renowned for creating awareness about piano compositions for the left hand and has won numerous musical honours throughout his career. Zecchini's recital will take place in the Nederburg Manor House recital room. Tickets are R150 and include delicious light supper snacks served with fine Nederburg wines. The traditional season finale of the Nederburg Concert Series features a scintillating "Summer Showcase" of popular classical music performed by the Cape Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (CPYO) and the Cape Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble (CPYWE), as well as a pre-concert appearance by popular jazz band, MoJazz. Date: 26 November 2011 Time: 17:00h (Gates open 15:00h to enable patrons to prepare their picnic spot. Venue: Lawn in front of Manor House, Nederburg Wine Estate, Paarl Tickets: Concert - R60 per person, children under 12 free. Picnic Platters - R120 per person (Own picnic baskets welcome, but no own wine please) Patrons can bring their own picnic hampers or pre-order delectable picnic platters at R120 per person.
