Cape Town Beer Festival

This Cape Town Beer Festival will be a great event to attend this November from the 25, 26 & 27th November 2010 from noon till 10pm on the fields at Hamilton’s Rugby Club in Greenpoint.

Celebrating a rich beer heritage, the Cape Town Festival of Beer presents over 20 styles of beer, ranging in origin from home to micro and mega-brewers. Food will be for sale, live music and DJ’s perform throughout, with a live screening of the final Springbok clash on the 27th.

Traditional ‘frauliens’, a braai-with-beer competition judged by Jan Braai, blind tastings and master classes are all in store at this exciting addition to Cape Town’s event calendar.

As the Festival organisers say: "It’s the start of the party season and it’s the beginning of a journey into the world of beer. You may not consider yourself a beer drinker, but this festival will give you a fuller experience of the brew and the breweries, that is guaranteed to change your view of beer."

What's happening at the Cape Town Festival of Beer?

At this Festival you will get a chance to taste beers such as Camelthorn, Napier Beer, Robson’s, Mitchell’s and Erdinger (to name a few); the Festival is also a great place to spend a weekend with friends and family.

In various beer will be served in true German tradition by lovely waitresses and visitors can even line up for a chance of visiting the home of the famous Oktoberfest; Munich in Germany - flights courtesy of Lufthansa.

Raffle tickets cost R25 each, with R5 of this going to Bobsforgood Foundation; an NGO created by Bob Skinstad , to equip our seven million children with school shoes. The winner will be announced on Saturday, 27 November at 21h00.

DJ’s and live local musicians such as Me & Mr Brown, Charlie Summerfield, Louise Day and Justin Bergh, as well as the Songscape Oompah Band, will take to the stage in the Carling Black Label tent.
