Cape Town Final Draw

World Cup Fever hits the Mother City

Soccer Fever hits Cape Town. The long anticipated Cape Town Final Draw is only a few hours away.

The City is in festive mood and the big party in Long Street is in full swing. Even the festive lights which were switched on last weekend in Adderley Street are witness of the coming big event, with football motives all over.

For more info on soccer in Cape Town read my South African Football A - Z with many interesting fact and news.

The Final Draw in Cape Town surely will be an event you should not miss. For more info about the Final Draw go here to Eye Witness News .

The entry to the party mile is free and there will be lots of top stars and attractions to look forward to.

The Cape Town Draw Street Party

The main party mile is in Lower Long Street where you will be celebrating in a carnival atmosphere with dancers and musicians in bright costumes, stilt walkers and fire dancers.

The performances on the main stage start around 12.00h and the soccer fan fest will be launched at 14.00h in Long Street when FIFA representatives will be welcomed by the South African mascot Zakumi.

The Worldcup Final Draw will be live broadcast from the CTICC at 19.00h and roughly two hours later popular South African bands will get the fans moving and dancing in the streets. Performances of acclaimed Cape Town band Freshly Ground and Jimmy Dludlu will excite the fans, that’s for sure.

Cape Town Final Draw Festival in Long Street and the FIFA Final Draw in The Cape Town Convention Centre are expected to attract more than 15,000 soccer fans in the city and more than two hundred million people will watch the live broadcast of the Draw all over the world.

Road Closures for the Final Draw

Most roads around the Cape Town Convention Centre and the City centre are already closed off to traffic and will remain so until December 7, 2009.

Intermittent road closures will be encountered on the Cape Town Foreshore.

Lower Long Street , Coen Steytler Avenue and Cullinan Street will be closed off for the next days. Motorists are asked to plan alternative routes and be patient as the traffic will be even heavier the next days due to the increased Cape Town visitor numbers.

Have a great party in Cape Town and enjoy the big spectacle of the Cape Town Final Draw.
